"Docu-Dramas," such as the one made by the producers of the ID Channel, EXAGGERATE public records of a case to capture viewers. The ID Channel did no investigation whatsoever of the case they are portraying. They have no regard for innocence or guilt of the people involved or what impact it may have on the ongoing case and the families of everyone involved.
We were blind-sided by the ID Channel's show about my mom's case. It is inaccurate and extremely painful for everyone involved in this case.
This site is for those interested in the facts and the truth.
When I was fifteen years old my mom was taken away. She was convicted of a crime she did not commit: murder. She has been incarcerated since June 2000.
Our family keeps fighting and doing all that we can do to bring her home, but so far we have had no luck. We have already been through two trials and three lawyers, but we still have hope! Hope that one day the truth will be known and my mother will be able to come back home to me. We work harder and harder everyday to prove my mom's innocence and to get her home where she deserves to be.
But, the money it takes to hire a lawyer is outrageous and there are so many other expenses involved. We have borrowed, accepted donations, and raised money in the past, but with the continued costs I am now making monthly payments to our lawyer. With the help of our family and friends I know we will be able to do what it takes to make sure she gets out of the horrible place she's in as soon as possible. I am looking forward to a new beginning, although I do not know when that will be. Currently, we are working with our lawyer on a Federal Habeas Corpus; although, mostly we are just waiting to hear if it will be accepted. I am hoping and praying with all my heart this will be it, this will end all the heartache and bring my mother home to me.
It has been such a long time since all this began and all I want is to have her here with me and to hear her voice down the hall every morning and be able to hug her anytime I want. I miss her so much.
